The party runs into her again at one point after responding to a quest about a monster sighting, where one of the party then recognizes her as the thought to be dead Frimelda. She and the party peacefully part ways as she tries searching for a cure.įrimelda is implied to freely wander into cities and such during her search, scaring the shit out of everyone. She finally realizes she is undead when she tries drinking the potions only to be hurt by them. She does manage to post a quest at the pub asking for some potions, which attracts the party's attention.
He poisoned her and left her for dead, but the poison turns out to be zombie powder, so she wakes up with barely any recollection of anything. She became romantically involved with another swordmaster, only to end up being betrayed by him when he let his jealousy take over. Prior to the party first meeting her, she traveled the world and was widely recognized as the greatest swordmaster alive. She joins your party after clearing a rather involved sidequest chain, and quite frankly she should have been part of the main cast because her arc was legitimately more interesting than whatever the fuck was going on in the main story. Now if you said Ema and Trucy working together, with a renewed focus on forensic tools we could use while investigating areas I would be all over that.įrimelda from Final Fantasy Tactics A2, a dual-wielding Paladin. I'll take whatever I can get with AA7 if that's the case I suppose, but still hoping my thread on who should be the next lead character somehow makes it way across the table of Capcom and Takumi and inspires them to true greatness. Actually Iris is probably the one character I actively dislike more than Athena, weird ass loli adjacent nonsense.
Same for Kay in AAI despite Little Thief. The OG crew of Maya, Pearl, Franziska, and Mia are all pretty amazing, as are the supporting witnesses. I love like every other woman in the series, but Athena at best just does nothing for me. Especially with how childish and simplistic emotions are represented, like a slightly more serious take on Super Princess Peach. And that her whole schtick is a woman who has incredible hearing letting her be in tune with people's emotions, while she herself is very prone to wild emotional swings, has always been something I've found oddly perplexing that so many people don't see to mind given how reviled a trope it generally is.
They blew their narrative wad with her in the very first game with her insane, even for AA series, backstory - so it feels like a waste on that front as her biggest secret and emotional baggage has been revealed and handled. Mood Matrix is probably the worst mechanic in the series, followed by or tied with Little Thief. She's not the worst, she was a pretty good side kick in Turnabout Reclaimed, but she's just about the last person I'd want to be the next lead attorney save for maybe Pheonix himself who needs to retire or straight up die at this point.
